From December 8th to 10th, a working group with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy visited Sichuan and discussed affairs regarding its position of the Guest of Honor Nation at the 16th WCIF. The group was led by Director Knudstorp of the Office of East Asian Economic Relations under the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Director Schmitz of the Office of Exhibition Policies and Affairs, with group members including representatives from the Consul-General of Germany in Chengdu, Hannover Fairs China Ltd., Economic Development Agency of Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany, and Chambers of Commerce of China and Germany.
Sichuan Province Deputy Governor Gan Lin met with the delegation on the morning of December 10th. The meeting, focused on Germany as the Guest of Honor Nation, was organized by the Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and attended by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, Sichuan Development and Reform Commission, Department of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs under the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Sichuan Board of Investment Promotion and the Germany delegation. The delegation also visited the venue, hotels and other facilities involved in the 16th WCIF.
