The Guest of Honor Nation was first established at the 14th WCIF in 2013, with Mongolia as the inaugural choice. Norovyn Altankhuyag, the former Prime Minister of Mongolia, attended the 14th WCIF and the 6th Western China International Cooperation Forum and delivered a keynote address.
France was the Guest of Honor Nation in the 15th WCIF in 2014.
France was invited to be the Guest of Honor Nation in the 15th Western China International Fair (WCIF) (October 23rd – November 3rd) in 2014, which also coincided with the 50th anniversary (1964-2014) of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Eight programs were successfully organized, including the Forum Des PME France-Chine, France Exhibition Hall, Sino-French Food and Cultural Exchange, French Intermezzo, French Sino-French Fashion Show, French Sculpture Show, International X Games and Introduction Fair of Tourism in France. Such activities were listed in the overall agenda of the Sino-French 50th anniversary.
