Reliving the History of Sichuan Tea on the "Ancient Tea Horse Road"

The Sichuan-Tibetan branch of the Ancient Tea Horse Road within Sichuan territory was a crucial corridor in terms of economic and cultural exchanges for population groups in southwest China, and it was also the primary conduit to access Tibet, Gansu and Qinghai from Sichuan. In antiquity, Sichuan was situated at the geographic center of the Northern and Southern Silk Roads and the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Today it stands at the junction of the two major national strategies of "the Belt and Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Belt". Under such a backdrop, specially designed tea-break area has been set up, which will feature Sichuan tea-themed activities and live performances of tea ceremonies, as a manifestation of the "Ancient Tea Horse Road" reimagined for G20, with the aim of propagating the time-honored Chinese tea cultural traditions, using tea as a medium to meet new friends and promoting and deepening exchanges between the various participating parties
